What This Username Checker Does

Type one username and the checker tests it against the rules of eleven platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), YouTube, Twitch, Discord, Snapchat, Reddit, Roblox, GitHub and LinkedIn. For every platform where the name is valid it gives you a direct link to the profile page, so you can see in seconds whether someone already has it.

Why no green "available" badge? Platforms don't let other websites query their user databases, and tools that claim instant availability across dozens of sites often guess. We would rather show you exactly where to look than show a result that might be wrong.

How to Read the Results

  • Format OK: the name meets that platform's length and character rules. Click Open profile; if you get a "page not found" or "this account doesn't exist" message, the name is probably free.
  • Not allowed: the platform would reject the name, and the reason is listed (too long, a forbidden character, two periods in a row, and so on).
  • Check in the app: the name is valid, but the platform has no public username URL (Discord and Roblox); try it on the sign-up screen.

Checking a Name Everywhere: a Quick Routine

  1. Shortlist three to five names with the username generator.
  2. Run each through this checker and drop names that break the rules on platforms you care about. X's 15-character limit is the usual dealbreaker.
  3. Open the profile links for the survivors.
  4. Register the winner on your most important platform first, then the rest the same day.
  5. If it's taken somewhere, use the username-taken tool to find a close variant that works everywhere.

The full rules behind the checker are listed on the username rules by platform page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this tool tell me for sure that a username is available?

No website can, unless the platform offers an official lookup. Big platforms block cross-site requests, so this checker does two honest things: it tells you whether the name is allowed by each platform's rules, and it opens the public profile page so you can see whether someone already uses it.

The profile page says 'not found'. Is the name free?

Usually, but not always. Names of suspended, deactivated or recently renamed accounts can be reserved, and some words are blocked. The sign-up or change-username screen of the app is the final check.

Why can't I check Discord or Roblox here?

Neither has public profile URLs based on the username. Type the name into Discord's User Settings > My Account or Roblox's sign-up form; both tell you immediately if it is taken.

Do you save the usernames I check?

No. The check runs in your browser and the name is never sent to our server. Opening a profile link sends you to that platform like any normal link.
